BeeFarm
Description:
The Beefarm system is an FPGA-based multiprocessor system-on-chip (MPSoC) designed for the BEE3 FPGA platform. It can generate a ring-bus with an arbitrary number of processors. Virtual memory is optional.
The processing element is the Honeycomb processor, a MIPS R3000 emulator based on the Plasma processor. This system has been designed to ease and speed-up the research of novel architectures for multiprocessors, such as transactional memory.
Beefarm has been developed at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Microsoft Research Center in conjuntion with the VELOX Project.
